Delicious. Came for lunch last weekend and literally doubled back the weekend after to eat here again. Nice outdoor seating in case you want to bring your pup. We've tried the loaded rice and mac plates with Chicken kelaguen, Huli huli, and Kalua pig. The food is so flavorful here and cooked to perfection. Buttery and slightly smoky - classic comfort food. Today I tried the tuna octopus salad and it did not disappoint. A generous portion of fish and the tako was soft and easy to eat. The sauce that comes with the katsu chicken musubi is incredible. Tastes a bit like a creamy miso mayo to me. A little on the pricy side in my opinion. Knocking off one star for that. Tough spending $60 on lunch (between 2) in this economy.
Enjoyed a Christmas celebration with my group. We started with empanadas for our starter, that were delicious we ordered a 2nd one. For my entree I had the Ahi Nachos it came with the seaweed salad on top. The portion sizes are enough for a meal. My only regret forgetting to add the . And don't forget to ask for the spicy finadene sauce. So ono! I love this place BC there's lots of options to choose from. Red or white rice. Lots of lots of traditional Chamorro favorites & drink options. If you've never been I highly recommend. It's a great gathering spot with friends. The vibe here is fun, loud, and there's also karaoke and entertainment. You need to try.
Huge portions and great island vibes. The Chamorro empanadas are a MUST!!! The staff was great, especially Lainey. She had the best customer service and dealt with our large group like a pro. Give her a raise!
Always am satisfied with JJ's! They cover all grounds when I'm craving Chamorro, or any Islander or Asian food. It's comfort food in a good local spot. I always look forward to coming here or getting food to go. It's located in the heart of Bonita, in the same center as the Wells Fargo Bank. Parking is not an issue at all. There's plenty of spots to choose from. The restaurant itself is super cozy, decent amount of indoor seating but also a good sized patio. The patio is dog friendly too :) Service is always great. It feels like they treat you as if they're family. From the host/hostess all the way to the sushi chefs, they're doing the best to get to know the crowd, especially their local crowd. They're always checking up on us, making sure we're okay and always there to answer all of our questions. I have never had an issue with their service. Food has always been good each time. We always get the kelaguen. It's super fresh and flavorful and the portions are huge. Their musubis are gigantic and yummy. Honestly everything is always good fir a decent price! There's so much on the kenu that I have yet to try. I highly suggest this spot for a good local gem! So much to offer! You should also checkout their sister restaurants as well! Another good local gem!
First time at JJ's and I'll definitely be back! Great local restaurant with fresh, quality ingredients. We ordered the poke nachos, pizza roll and salt & pepper chicken wings. We enjoyed all of them and would order again!
Food is all right. Freshly cooked and flavorful. Love their Mama Kellz margarita it is blended with Mango, tamarind, tajin The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. We were seated outdoor as we preferred when I made a reservation for 10 people. We were well attended by our server even if she's tied up with other guests. Love to come back here. My family from Washington love the food so much.
What an awesome spot. Came here on a Sunday night -- they were a little busy but we were able to be seated immediately. We tried: Chicken kelaguen - Smoky chopped chicken, mixed with green onions, chilis, coconut, and lemon juice, served cold. We ate it on corn tortillas drizzled with their finadene. Empanadas - Deep fried little spicy chicken pillows. You can't go wrong with deep fried little spicy chicken pillows (and finadene). Musubi sampler - Ordered to appease our friend at the table who had never tried musubi (let alone any Hawaiian cuisine). Needless to say, our friend is now sold. Kamikaze roll - the server said this was probably one of their most popular rolls, and I can understand why: eel, shrimp, crab, and cream cheese, rolled into a maki and tempura fried, then cut up and topped with spicy crab salad, jalapeño, cilantro, and drizzled with sweet and spicy sauces. That roll was LOADED. Definitely stop by there if you're looking for a belly-busting food adventure.
It's one of my staples in Bonita when I'm craving island food! I'm actually surprised how long it's taken for me to write a review given that I've been a repeat customer for many years. Drinks: I've actually tried something new this time around! Kahealani's Wave for 4 ppl! The waitress asked us if we wanted the shareable size for around 40 dollars, and we said, "Sure, why not?" This thing was so huge that the party next to us looked at the waitress as she brought the massive drink out carefully with two hands. This drink has several types of alcohol: light rum, gold rum, and 151 Proof Dark Rum! What's more dangerous is that I don't taste the alcohol but it hits you like a tidal wave after a few sips (the name is appropriate, lol). My go-to eats: Chicken Kelaguen. Always fresh, love the bright flavors of this cold dish. Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings. I love the batter and crisp on this. Different from the salt and pepper chicken wings that you get in the Chinese restaurants but different in a good way. Kalua Pig. Always a must! The pork is tender and flavorful. Red Rice This is my favorite guamanian side dish, and I have to get it every time I go here. Check out the bar next door if you get a chance. They have live music, and it's such a fun vibe.
So we did a group work outing and were really looking forward to supporting this business. We had a reservation for ~30 ppl and the carved out an entire patio for us. The service was amazing, but the food......stole the show. We all grabbed some drinks and got appetizers for the table. The island samplers had so much delicious food that it almost the way to start the experience. The empanadas are flavorful and the crust is nice and flaky. The teriyaki wings were also amazing. I wish I grabbed some salt and pepper wing to compare. I got the Hawaiian Combo and I was blown away. The Hulu Hulu chicken was probably the best chicken I've ever had. It was juicy and the sauce was the bomb. I love me some Mac salad so I'm always happy to get a plate that has it. The pork was subtle, tender and perfectly paired with the chicken. I had plenty of left overs and if I didn't I would probably have gotten a to go plate. The repeat customers were singing the praises of how awesome this place is and now I'm doing the same. A definite must try.
